Whirling Wader Spectacle

November 24, 2018

Early in November I visited Norfolk with Chris Gomersall, a wildlife photographer.  After two early mornings without much success, on the third morning the light turned good and we were witness to the amazing sight of thousands of Knot whirling in the sky moving from sandbank to sandbank as the high tide retreated.  Knot arrive in their hundreds of thousands each autumn from their Arctic breeding grounds.
