Christmas was spent with the family in Grasmere. Water, water everywhere ……! Heavy rain, grey skies and low hill mist were not conducive to photography. Roads had been washed away and rivers overflowed but at least properties in Grasmere were spared flooding.
The sun came out fleetingly and the day we left was glorious. We left via Glenridding – one of the first villages to suffer from flooding and clean up and further flood protection work was evident.
