The first week in March saw me in Iceland. A photographer’s paradise! We hired a car from the airport and drove the A1 as far as Jokulsarlon Lagoon. I was last in Iceland two years ago and the increase in the number of tourists and the prices were a bit of a shock. Iceland is expecting a further increase in tourism, so my advice would be to head away from Reykjavik and the one day coach tours. Nevertheless, it was great. I particularly enjoyed the Reykjanes Peninsula with all its geothermal activity. The Jokulsarlon Lagoon is a must and the ice caves if you are lucky enough to avoid the crowds.
